Tonight is the premiere of #HumanDiscoveries on @FacebookWatch. First three episodes drop at 9pm EST/6pm PST, then a new one every Tuesday until September. I hope you’ll give it a shot. It’s funny! And it has without a doubt one of the best casts on TV... refinery29.com/amp/en-us/2019…
I mean, come on: @ZacEfron, @AnnaKendrick47, @LamorneMorris, @jillianbell, @paulscheer, @edbegleyjr, @LisaKudrow, @SamRichardson, and @JAdomian – plus an insane group of guest stars.
That’s pretty good, right?
It’s set thousands of years ago, at the moment humans went from desperately trying to stay alive to finally having some time to think about life – and overthink it. They talk like us but are discovering everything (good and bad) for the first time.
And on a personal note...
I wrote the show with Chris Bruno and Dave Lee. I met them a month after one of my closest friends, Marsh McCall, passed away.
As I got to know them, they mentioned they’d created another show a few years before that had been shut down right before filming.
And I knew.
“Did someone work on it with you? Help you run it?” I asked. “Yes,” they said. “Marsh McCall.”
From that moment, I needed to get #HumanDiscoveries made – to, indirectly, finish what Marsh had started with Chris and Dave.
We named a character after him, so that he could be a part of the writers’ room. So that I could say his name without just feeling loss. And tonight, when Marsh (the wonderful @edbegleyjr) makes his debut, my friend will live on little more.
Episode 3 is my favorite Marsh story.
Anyway, I’m really proud of the show and everyone who helped make it: Chris and Dave, the cast, the animators, the folks at @ShadowMachine and @FacebookWatch – and Marsh. I hope you enjoy it. #HumanDiscoveries
And @iamstephbeatz! Dammit, I KNEW I’d left someone out. She’s brilliant and lovely and plays TWO parts in episode 3. Holy crap we got a great cast.
