Happening now: ICPC, in collaboration with Youth Alive Foundation, trains Teachers on National Values Curriculum (NVC) in FCT, Lagos and Kano States.

2. The NVC is an initiative of the Commission in collaboration with Nigerian Educational Research & Development Council (NERDC), which started in 2003. It is aimed at infusing the values of integrity and honesty into the curriculum of Primary, Secondary and tertiary schools.

3. ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, who was represented by Hon. Hannatu Mohammed, Board Member, ICPC, while declaring the event open, mentioned that the NVC is one of the major achievements of ICPC.

4. “The development of the NVC was a long process - from identifying the core values and carrier subjects to the infusion of values into the existing subjects.” - Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, ICPC Chairman.

5. “ The Commissionbis not resting on its laurels as far as the NVC is concerned. ICPC is interested in ensuring that students get the best out of the curriculum and this we are doing through the following activities.”

6. a) Training of teachers on the teaching of NVC. This, the Commission intends to use the NVC Teachers Guide it developed in teaching the teachers across 12 states of the federation.
b) Assessment of the implementation status of the NVC through a survey.

7. c) Revision of the National Values Curriculum. The Commission will collaborate with NERDC to re-examine the NVC and determine ways to enrich it.
d) Infusuion of courses in Polytechnics and Universities level.
