“I’m hoping to have children one day. And I know when they’re old enough to vote, they’ll ask me about what we did in 2020,” Buttigieg says. He hopes he can tell them we got rid of the Electoral College, handled climate change and address the racism that still exists in the U.S.
“Suppressing the black vote made my life worse because I have to live under this presidency,” @PeteButtigieg says to laughter and light applause when asked about voting rights protection.
Buttigieg is asked how he will bring policing out of the shadows of systemic racism as president when he said he couldn’t get it done as mayor.
Buttigieg says he could have used more federal help, and there needs to be nationwide coordinated action and conversation on this
