#RatsScurrying off the Sinking Ship, USS NRA

Among the millions of Americans who hate of the NRA, one group has been rather unexpected - the NRA Board of Directors itself, or at least quite a few of its directors.

Just before April’s annual meeting in Indianapolis, Oliver North objected to CEO Wayne ‘La Pew’s’ LaPierre’s corrupt & loose speeding for his own benefit, the enormous unaudited fees from now-fired PR firm Ackerman McQueen, & insider family self-dealings of Board members.

His punishment was by not being nominated to serve for a traditional second term as Board president. Many MSM headlines suggested that he resigned from the Board. He has not, as of yet.

Other Board members who criticized La Pew lost their committee assignments. Most of the real work of the Board is done in these committees. The most important is the Executive Committee, which controls the agenda and nominates (elects) the officers.

The Nominating Committee picks the people who will be on the ballot each year. (There is a petition method of getting on the ballot, but it is cumbersome, and few ever succeed in getting on the Board that way.)

Thus, those directors have no real function or influence. It also would be a safe beat that none of these dissenters being re-nominated for the Board. (One third of the Board is elected each year.)

Resignations, or those expected soon, since the April annual meeting:

1) Gun manufacturer Pete Brownell, 50, resigned quietly before the others. He was elected in 2010, heir to a leading gun manufacturing company;

2) Esther Schneider, 54, a gun dealer first elected in 2016;

3) Sean Maloney, 34, an attorney and founder of a murder defense insurance company;

4) Timothy Knight, 49, a gun activist first elected in 2015;

5) Shooting champion Julie Golob, 42, newly elected in 2018;

6) Country music singer Craig Morgan, 55, elected in 2016; and

7) Former NASCAR driver Richard Childress, 74, and first elected in 2009.

Note the mostly young ages. The medium age has of directors has gone from 67 in April to 70 now.

Those still on the Board, but vocally upset with

A) Iowa state rep. Clel Baudler;
B) Former US Rep Dan Boren,
C) Soldier of Fortune militia magazine publisher Robert Brown;
D) Gun parts manufacturer EVP Wayne Liptak;

E) Urban warfare gun ranger owner Buz Mills;
F) Convicted felon and Iran gun runner Oliver North; and
G) Gun for hire Lance Olson;
H) Oil-rich Melanie Pepper;

I) Chair of the Ohio Firearms Assn Linda Walker; and
J) Politician Allen West.
Five of these have been on the Board for at least ten years, an additional humiliation.

Per the Bylaw, dying or resigning Board members are replaced by the losers from the last election. But there are now not enough of them. Perennial candidate & extremist gun rights lawyer Adam Kraut has already been offered a position and refused, in protest.

Another loser was already chosen as the 76th member, a job created for La Pew to rescue a loser for one year. Members rejected Board member & former Redskin Ted Butz Assuming he does not swallow his pride, this leaves only other five rejected candidates.

La Pew’s top supporters are now:
Adulterer & former Rep Bob Barr, 71;
Fomer US “tap tap tap” Senator Larry Craig, 74;
Extremist Florida lobbyist Marion Hammer, 80;
Former Ga state rep Curtis S Jenkins, 64;
Former head of the CPAP David Keene, 74;

New NRA president and Confederate/KKK supporter Carolyn Meadows, 90;
Racist and pedophile Ted Nugget, 70;
Militia supporter Wayne Ross, 76; and
US Rep. Don Young and militia supporter, 86.

As a group, pretty much the most despicable people in the country.
