So we are correct, I do not support all these guys that have made it their duty to damage and destroy our image abroad but wait, is this not the symptoms of a larger problem of our country, did we not create this problem by celebrating money by all means possible no matter how?
When we started saying things like "we go wash am o" "thank God for your appointment or promotion, na our time to chop watin we fit chop o, we no know when e go reach our turn again o" or when we mocked the retired civil servant that returned without a truckload of stolen monies.
Growing up, my mother questioned how I got little things like a pencil, biro(BiC) or a novel she didn't buy for me. That in turn created this thing in me that makes me not to jealous or envy other people's things. I cherish and love my things and my space. Thanks mum.
Some time ago my son and daughter went out and came back with a broken toy, asked them where and how they got it, they said on the floor. We went back to return it to the spot. People felt I was making a big deal out of nothing but I explained to my kids that it's not their own.
I hated comparison to the death, when you tell one person that "see your mates have done this or that" you are setting them up for temptations that they may never be able to resist. Don't forget that the universe would always conspire to bring these things to be.
I know they say, "every good person is a temptation away from showing the criminal or devil in them" but I dare to say "every bad person is one resistance away from avoiding evil" if a people know better, they'll do better. Let's teach people the right actions and right words.
You cannot show only bad to people on daily basis and not expect others to be influenced by it. When we see principled people, let's stop saying things like, "don't mind him, na Johnny just come, he/she go soon learn" learn what?
Don't talk down people's job in anger. You cannot in anger say things like, "you this common okada or uber or taxi, bus rider" talk to the human and not the job they do. Respect their job and address their humanity.
I have 3 children, a 7yr and 5yr old plus this little 6 weeks old boy. There is nothing in common in their characters and response to things. So imagine if we start comparing them at every minute. I would definitely end up with disaster on my hand. Let's respect our differences.
