@dingbattus @smh P1. Which religion which books? The “Bible” is not 1 book. Followers of Jesus understand the New Testament is the fulfilment of God revealing what HE is really like. I want you all to understand something. Look at how Jesus dealt with people.

@dingbattus @smh P2. Let me defend people who identify as same sex attracted. They are people. Just like everyone else. Some identify as Christian, some atheist & other world views. I love my gay friends as much as I love my self righteous mates. They are no better nor worse that any other human.

@dingbattus @smh P3. At the same time we have a global problem with intolerance. The most intolerant people are those who think they have a mandate to force others world view. Jesus followers don’t force views. They understand their freedom to speak, but as mere people may communicate bluntly.

@dingbattus @smh P4. It is vital to healthy democracy & healthy minds that we tolerate blunt forceful proud world views - no matter how offensive. The views will rise or fall on their own merits. If we truly view people as equals we tolerate them being wrong. Proud people tend to force views.

@dingbattus @smh P5. If roles reversed. Folau was the CEO. & Joyce the rugby player advocating for his world view in social media. Folau would not have manufactured a code of conduct designed to exclude (bullying) or shut Joyce down. Folau would have supported Joyce as a valuable team member.

@dingbattus @smh P6. Jesus is for all people Despite me being a sinner. Despite every Christian being a sinner. Despite every non Christian being a sinner, Jesus still came to us to prove that he loves us, and has the power needed to change everything within us that we thought we knew. Lovingly.

@dingbattus @smh P7. Christians can be a pain in the ass. No doubt about it. But Jesus followers are not malicious. They care about truth & live by what truth they know at this point of personal development time.

@dingbattus @smh P8. Jesus followers were admonished by Apostle Paul in the verses Folau posted. He was warning them of an equation. That if they followed their personal desires they would be slaves to those desires. He exhorted them to follow holiness & be slaves to what is good in God’s eyes.

@dingbattus @smh P9. What is good in God’s eyes for us? To love God & to love one another. Loving God is trust in God’s love for us. When he says “this is good”, if we love him we honestly agree due to mutual love & trust. Sin is to not believe Gods word about his love. It seperates us from him.

@dingbattus @smh P10. God for his part loves us & it grieves him that we seperate ourselves from his love. In part because it corrupts the “good” of his loving designs for us. The world groans & is harmed because of the discord. Our sin rapes & exploits what was created for selfish desires.

@dingbattus @smh Nothing about Jesus condemns us for our broken choices that harms us & harms others. He stands pleading with his hands outstretched on the cross to come to him who can heal us and heal our land. He does this because our way is doomed. His way leads to eternal love & life.

@dingbattus @smh p11. The verses Folau posted were admonishment to Christians about how they live. Apostle Paul was saying the evidence of following God’s love is that these other powerful desires fall aside if we instead follow the powerful love that Jesus has for us.

@dingbattus @smh P12. When we don’t already understand this, then verses cherry picked can seem extra offensive. But anyone who takes the time to understand will find it is an uncompromising love story in which we are all loved, Christians try to say so, if ineptly, but never malicious intent.
