She was brutally murdered in 2005-strangled, sexually assaulted, beaten and left dead in her own apartment.
Now the man convicted of killing Jackie Cassettari, Brian Rainwater, is being released from prison much earlier than her family had hoped @FOX40
@FOX40 This is what Cassettari's cousin Steffanie, just 14-years-old when Cassettari was murdered, had to say about Rainwater being released early. @FOX40
We did a fascinating interview last night with Desiree Rainwater. She’s the wife of convicted killer Brian Rainwater- 14 years after the brutal murder of Jackie Cassettari, Desiree stands by her husband and maintains he’s innocent @FOX40
“He’s not a violent person. And he was an amazing, tender loving gentle father...To bludgeon somebody to death, no that’s not my husband. Let alone someone he cared about and considered a friend.” -Desiree Rainwater. She shared 10 very unassuming photos of her husband w/us @FOX40
Desiree thought her husband’s criminal past fit a police narrative, and ultimately that’s why he was arrested. In reality there was substantial evidence pointing to him, including Jackie’s stolen ID/credit cards found in his home after she’d been killed @FOX40
According to detectives back in 2005, Jackie’s cell phone had been stolen after her murder. They say they have evidence that it was Brian Rainwater’s voice calling Live Links, a “singles chat line”, from Jackie’s phone just hours after she’d been killed. @FOX40
Rainwater will be a free man in November. Released in his hometown of Tracy. Sentenced in 2009, he got credit for time served (he was first arrested in 2005). He also got credit for doing college courses while in prison. @FOX40
Plus, #Prop47 reduced his stolen property convictions (Jackie’s cell phone/credit cards) from felonies to misdemeanors. So in total, with all his credit Rainwater will have only served 10 years after his 2009 sentence. Jackie’s family tells me they’re outraged @FOX40
