The state presented significant wiretap evidence today in the #DanMarkel murder trial that I found clearly organized and easy to follow. A few highlights (short thread).
1/ An undercover agent approached #DonnaAdelson posing as #LuisRivera’s brother and claimed that she needed to take care of the brother the way she had taken care of defendants #KatieMagbanua and #SigfredoGarcia. The agent left Donna with a phone number.
2/ #DonnaAdelson relayed the details of that interaction to #CharlieAdelson who, in the quote of the day, said, “Why wouldn't the person come find me and talk to me? Why go to my mom?"
3/ #CharlieAdelson called the phone number left by the undercover agent. On that call, the agent talked about how his brother helped solve "the problem up north". Adelson tells the undercover that he's never met those people but says he'll call him back.
4/ After that call, Adelson called #KatieMagbanua who then called #SigfredoGarcia. During that call, Magbanua says to Garcia, “I have more information for you.”
5/ Summary: the communication path between co-conspirators is, again, clear and easy to follow. Although there is no “smoking gun” comment, there is more than enough to thread together why they’re communicating. #DanMarkel
