TODAY: @RepSylviaGarcia introduced the Polling Access Safety Act to restrict immigration enforcement at polling places. While voters themselves must be citizens, visible CBP/ICE activity on Election Day can still intimidate and deter eligible voters. #PASA

Immigration enforcement activities at the polls are particularly likely to intimidate non-white citizens who are eligible to vote. This is bill ensures CBP/ICE can’t be used as a voter intimidation tactic. #PASA

Here are 3 critical parts of the Polling Access Safety Act that would address immigration federal law enforcement activities at polling places to protect all eligible voters’ sense of security at the polls. #PASA

1️⃣ Bar immigration enforcement actions at or within one mile of a polling location on a voting day. #PASA

2️⃣ Prohibit ICE from conducting vehicle searches on voting days. #PASA
