ES #NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote in his closing remarks recapitulated on the talking points from key speakers and workshop sessions. He reiterated on @hadizabalausman call on authorities to design policies that will accommodate our fellow women.

Particularly in cases of women taking care of their children, "we shouldn't use some of those things to judge their performance in office, knowing fully well that they are women too and at some point we pass through such situations"

Engr. Simbi Wabote highlighted Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan's keynote address where she talked about the abysmal data available as to women allocation in the oil and gas sector, how relevant data about women working in the sector and civil service can be gathered.

So this a point that we will drive in the #NCDMB to gather data about women working in the Oil and Gas Sector, those in Nigeria and those working in the service sector - Engr. Simbi Wabote @wabote_simbi

"I also took out from her [Dr. Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan] some level of affirmative action, whether you like it or not it is prevalent everywhere in the world, when you have “people who have been oppressed” you need to do something to bring them up" @wabote_simbi

On Dr Folashade advise that we have a gender desk in some of our parastatals, Engr. @wabote_simbi said #NCDMB is going to look at that actively and will also come up with gender friendly policies in our activities.

“They talked about funding, I commit that part of our funding strategy at #NCDMB will be looked at and we will in a way give some level of advantage to women applying for funds from us. "- @wabote_simbi
