Exciting news! For this year's @BeingHumanFest, researchers from @edgehill are exploring the history of 19th-century humour.

Come to @AtkinsonThe in Southport on 23 Nov for a day of free public activities and performances.

Here's what's in store...

At 6pm I'll be chatting on stage with @greg_jenner -(historical adviser for #HorribleHistories and host of the BBC's 'You're Dead to Me' podcast)- about history and comedy.

Free to attend, but please book tickets here: beinghumanfestival.org/event/in-conve…

At 8pm, comedian @iszi_lawrence (Radio 4's 'Making History') will host a live version of her Z-list, Dead-List podcast. She'll be challenging four researchers (inc me & @greg_jenner) to champion neglected figures from history!

Book (free) tickets here: beinghumanfestival.org/event/z-list-d…

@iszi_lawrence @greg_jenner During the day we'll be running a series of family-friendly workshops and drop-in sessions at @AtkinsonThe on the history of nineteenth-century humour. I'm particularly looking forward to @drbeard79's workshop on The Miseries of Human Life!

@iszi_lawrence @greg_jenner @AtkinsonThe @drbeard79 But if you can't make it to Southport on 23 Nov, don't despair! Our free exhibition on the history Nineteenth-Century laughter and comedy will run at @AtkinsonThe from November 2019 to March 2020.
