This weekend we welcomed fifty volunteers who came to assist asylum seekers subject to Trump's deadly "Remain in Mexico" policy. We've constructed a highly imperfect safety net. This much we all know...

We are responding the best we can to a government-created crisis with limited resources at our disposal. We simply cannot represent each and every individual. But we can prepare the people to defend themselves in the hope that for some, it will be enough.

And sometimes it is. Today we learned an asylum seeker who came to our clinic just won her case. It's only one win, but it is a win for the people nonetheless. Today not even the shadow cast by government cruelty can dim the light we all feel when good people and justice prevail.
