The Speaker in his remarks noted that the House is ready to key into the United Nations (@UN) 2030 agenda that seeks to achieve a world free of inequality.
At the event was the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and Social Development Hajiya @Sadiya_farouq who assured the audience that the ministry will pursue the establishment of a commission that will focus on persons with special needs.
The Minister lauded the initiative from the Speakers office and said the ministry is ready to partner with the office in order to reach more people.
At the end of the event, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and the Honourable Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk presented wheelchairs and scholarships to students and persons living with disabilities.
