What is at the core of any genuine concern about CAA?

Argument: coupled with NRC it will be exclusionary of poor Indian Muslims. Poor people may not have documents. CAA+NRC gives a poor Hindu a loop-hole while poor Muslim will be left out.

Reality: Not true.1/5 #ISupportCAA_NRC

The argument that poor people are devoid of documents may have been true say in 2014. But in last 5 years, every poor has been touched in some official way or the other. Jan Dhan, Ujjwala, household electrification, Aadhaar, Jan Suraksha insurance, and so on. #ISupportCAA_NRC 2/5

Therefore argument that since poor people do not have documents,so a Hindu without documents can exploit loophole of claiming to be from say Bangladesh but the Muslim will be left out, is simply not true.
That India of poor without documents no longer exists.

But let's concede for argument purpose that some poor may not have documents.

For that there will be provision in future NRC for "witnesses, various other proofs/community verification" who can testify to Indian citizenship of such poor without documents. 4/5

Therefore this argument that CAA is OK but CAA+NRC is problem ALSO DOES NOT HOLD.

CAA alone or CAA+NRC has got nothing to do with Indian Muslims.

The protests are simply not about CAA or NRC at all. They are the violent revenge of the electorally defeated.5/5
