I googled, to find out where it came from, and found it in this 2010 EPA document:
epa.gov/sites/producti…
"Climate Change Indicators in the United States" (p.60 as the document numbers pages)

But a simple table of average monthly temperatures makes it simpler:
sealevel.info/wichita_spring…
A: about six days.

Note the latitude change that gives ≈1°C (1.8°F) temperature change. You need a scale-of-miles, which I added to this high-resolution version (with permission of the Arbor Day Foundation):
@JoeTheAtheist @OscarsWild1 @DrSusanBarring1 @ClimatePoet @DawnTJ90 @corchem @d_e_mol @Vieux_Rhone @badmoonrising11 @AtomsksSanakan @JosephS36875398 @Kenneth72712993 @octal_ @dvibrationz @insane_voice @Jamz129 @PolAnimalAus @Schtickery @horrdorr @pinangodan @FrankWi74044551 @NikolovScience @AOECOIN @GillesnFio @Gladfly1 @swcrisis @FactFascist @Bananenrijperij @KGrumpallo @stevethib @FrankChanged @DonWils13730132 @ElQuesoSabio @EthonRaptor @Creamih8 @Vulgar_wit @Tokyo_Tom @dltff_ya @KCTaz @MATTP1949 @whyofweb @KnowYourGreen1 @su_js1 @Silence54994655 @TyotoRiffle @Tangomitteckel @AlanBlackMD @ideapalooza @ADevotedYogi sealevel.info/2015_zones_hig…
A: 1°C (1.8°F) = about 50-70 miles latutude change
@JoeTheAtheist @OscarsWild1 @DrSusanBarring1 @ClimatePoet @DawnTJ90 @corchem @d_e_mol @Vieux_Rhone @badmoonrising11 @AtomsksSanakan @JosephS36875398 @Kenneth72712993 @octal_ @dvibrationz @insane_voice @Jamz129 @PolAnimalAus @Schtickery @horrdorr @pinangodan @FrankWi74044551 @NikolovScience @AOECOIN @GillesnFio @Gladfly1 @swcrisis @FactFascist @Bananenrijperij @KGrumpallo @stevethib @FrankChanged @DonWils13730132 @ElQuesoSabio @EthonRaptor @Creamih8 @Vulgar_wit @Tokyo_Tom @dltff_ya @KCTaz @MATTP1949 @whyofweb @KnowYourGreen1 @su_js1 @Silence54994655 @TyotoRiffle @Tangomitteckel @AlanBlackMD @ideapalooza @ADevotedYogi It's even easier to see how much elevation change gives 1°C of temperature change. The average tropospheric lapse rate is about 6.5 °C/km, so 1°C = (1/6.5) km = 500 feet (or less, where it's very dry).
@JoeTheAtheist @OscarsWild1 @DrSusanBarring1 @ClimatePoet @DawnTJ90 @corchem @d_e_mol @Vieux_Rhone @badmoonrising11 @AtomsksSanakan @JosephS36875398 @Kenneth72712993 @octal_ @dvibrationz @insane_voice @Jamz129 @PolAnimalAus @Schtickery @horrdorr @pinangodan @FrankWi74044551 @NikolovScience @AOECOIN @GillesnFio @Gladfly1 @swcrisis @FactFascist @Bananenrijperij @KGrumpallo @stevethib @FrankChanged @DonWils13730132 @ElQuesoSabio @EthonRaptor @Creamih8 @Vulgar_wit @Tokyo_Tom @dltff_ya @KCTaz @MATTP1949 @whyofweb @KnowYourGreen1 @su_js1 @Silence54994655 @TyotoRiffle @Tangomitteckel @AlanBlackMD @ideapalooza @ADevotedYogi So, 1°C (1.8°F) of warming is like planting ≈6 days later, or moving 50-70 miles south, or moving to a 500 foot higher elevation.
If none of those things sound catastrophic, then congratulations! Welcome to the ranks of the Climate Realists!
