We are really enjoying #MessiahNetflix. Just a quick thought about it.
Al-Masih is presented as a somewhat distant, mystical figure. In other words, how we imagine a Messiah to be.

But the Jesus of the Gospels wasn't like that. He lived hand in glove with his community for three years. He walked everywhere and lived most of his life in public.

What's extraordinary is that those closest to him saw him tired, hungry and lived with him day in and day out yet STILL decided he was the Son of God.

Obviously the miracles (and Resurrection!) were a huge part of this. But nothing in their close exposure to his life persuaded them otherwise.

Honestly, you would only have to spend 3 days in my close company (or 3 hours, ask @K76Eng ) to realise I am not the Messiah, I am a very naughty boy.
Jesus's community saw him 24/7 for three years and still decided he was God.
