I read the Scottish Government’s Draft Equality Impact Assessment so that you don’t have to;
They think the GRA Policy is not designed to eliminate unlawful discrimination.
That’s ironic since changing sex means that discrimination claims on the basis of sex are erased
Neither does this policy impact on advancing equality of opportunity.
Places on AWS are taken.
Gender pay gap reporting affected.
Equal pay claims rendered impossible.
Women’s dignity and privacy irrelevant
Safeguarding concerns unevidenced
No impact.
Who needs to promote good relations? Not this policy
And then there’s sexual orientation.
Well.
“Promoting good relations: Policy is not designed for this”
Indeed.
