Birds of Prey is a glorious film with a killer soundtrack and some wonderful directing/fight choreography. Morally questionable, deeply satisfying and full of roller skating, bad guy punching, super hero action.

Watching it, I was reminded of how it felt to watch Tank Girl, Whip It and Ocean’s Thirteen.

For me, BoP is the funniest of all the recent superhero movies. Yes, funnier than the GotGs and Deadpool, which I loved, but all of those featured at least one ‘UGH’ moment of the film forgetting/ not caring that women were in the audience.

I also like that while almost none of the BoP characters are completely like versions of the characters I have read in the comics (except for Margot Robbie who IS the Conner-Palmiotti Harley), they were all characters that felt right, even with new backstories/motives.

Dinah is the MOST Black Canary I’ve ever seen done in live action, Helena Bertinelli is an adorkable cinnamon roll of a vengeful assassin, Renee Montoya is a hardass cynic who deserves better than the Gotham PD, and baby Cass Cain is my heart. #BirdsOfPreyMovie
