#DelhiRiots: Hearing commences in Supreme Court before a Bench headed by CJI SA Bobde on plea to register FIRs against BJP leaders for hate speech, rioting.

#DelhiRiots: Solicitor General Tushar Mehta refers to Mander's speech in which he allegedly said that he does not have faith in Supreme Court and real justice would be done on streets.

CJI asks for transcript of speech of Mander; Mander's lawyer denies the allegation.

#DelhiRiots: CJI says the allegations against Mander are serious.

CJI says the court will not hear Mander till the issue on allegations against him is sorted out.

#DelhiRiots: How is the situation today, asks CJI Bobde.

SG Mehta: There has been no riots for the past three days.

CJI Bobde: Then will you register FIRs now?

SG: If we start registering FIRs now it might affect the situation. So it should be left to appropriate authority.

#DelhiRiots: SG Mehta: Let authorities on the ground take stock of situation.

CJI SA Bobde: Registration of an FIR does nothing to a man.

#DelhiRiots: SG Tushar Mehta points out that Colin Gonsalves had appeared for Harsh Mander in Delhi High Court. He is now appearing for different petitioners but raising the same issue and with same prayers.

Gonsalves is appearing in Supreme Court for ten riots victims.

#DelhiRiots: The petition by riots victims is also at the behest of Harsh Mander, alleges Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.

They are sponsored by Mr. Mander, says Mehta.

#DelhiRiots: Let us see what the matter is now, says CJI Bobde and allows Colin Gonsalves to make submissions.

#DelhiRiots: "Kapil Mishra raised provocative slogans and conducted marches.

We did not understand the enormity of the statement then.

Now such statements are being made across the country", Colin Gonsalves.

#DelhiRiots: Protests are causing blockade of roads, I agree. But not a single incident of violence by protestors, says Gonsalves.

#DelhiRiots: With DCP standing beside him, he gave an ultimatum to clear the blockade within a particular time or else he will take things into his hands. And after that violence started, says Gonsalves.

#DelhiViolance: Speeches of Mishra and Anurag Thakur are not merely hate speeches but also calls for mobilisation and amounted to an attempt to murder.

Subsequently, other leaders catch on, says Gonsalves.

#DelhiRiots: SG Tushar Mehta says 467 FIRs have been registered though Gonsalves wants FIR against three leaders.

"It is fallacious to believe that one statement woukd have led to riots", SG Mehta.

#DelhiRiots: I was very demoralised when I knew about it, Colin Gonsalves.

I was also demoralised when I was called upon at 12.30 to answer this, SG Mehta.

#DelhiRiots: "Their prayer to hear the matter on time is justified", CJI Bobde remarks referring to the long adjournment given by Delhi High Court.

#DelhiRiots: What we propose to do is the petition by riot victims be transferred to High Court for hearing on Friday, CJI Bobde.

SG Mehta objects, says violence has stopped now.

#DelhiRiots: CJI Bobde asks Gonsalves to give names of leaders who can go on ground to make a case for peace.

Gonsalves agrees.

#DelhiRiots: CJI Bobde says long adjournment by Delhi High Court unjustified.

#DelhiRiots: Supreme Court orders that all matters relating to Delhi Riots in high court may be advanced and taken up on Friday. Petitions in SC on the issue also transferred to HC to be taken up on same date. HC should decide the matters as expeditiously as possible, says SC.

#DelhiRiots: Do you have leaders who can take responsibility and bring about peace? CJI Bobde

Colin Gonsalves: Yes.

CJI: What about leaders in BJP?

SG Mehta: No

CJI: What about a neutral person like Prashant Bhushan?

SG Mehta objects
