THREAD: A BIG CONCERN I have now that California schools will likely be out for the rest of the school year... kids who live in #abusive homes will go unchecked by teachers and friends.

If abuse is happening in the home, who will see it? Who will protect these vulnerable kids?

If you haven't seen #TheTrialsOfGabrielFernandez on @netflix, you must.

It's SO hard to watch but it shows how we as a community need to do more.

Gabriel Fernandez, 8, of Palmdale was tortured to death by his mom & her boyfriend.

And even after #GabrielFernandez's gruesome death sparked outrage across the country, TWO more cases of child abuse/death occurred in Antelope Valley.

Prosecutors say Anthony Avalos, 10, of Lancaster was tortured and killed by his mom and her boyfriend. abc7.com/5498613/

Then last summer, 4-year-old Noah Cuatro of Palmdale was found dead. His parents are accused of torturing, sodomizing and killing him.

There is reason why domestic violence calls and abuse cases SPIKE in the summer time... school is out. If you know of a vulnerable child, check in on them. Don't stop calling the authorities if need be.

Here is a great resource to share as well nodvla.org/get-help/resou…

Case in point

RIP sweet boy. #GabrielFernandez

If you suspect child abuse call 800-422-4453. And keep calling until people hear you. https://t.co/yxRcm3WYPs
