What can we learn? At the moment we do what Italy did, so we will get what Italy got. catalyst.nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
Can we still change? Support those in self isolation or quarantine at home and know what their health status is? In that way we can intervene in time. Leaving it up to individuals to report on how they feel is tricky. We need data.
Widely emerging Corona check apps are useful to lessen the burden on GPs but we need data! Does NL have one (and only one) app that feeds info on O2 saturation, fever, respiratory complaints of those at home directly to a triage center that alerts GPs when to take action?
Do we now how many heath care workers are cured and immune or do we only determine active infection? Looking at results means that in times of an epidemic you are always 3 days behind. We need to anticipate on the data that we need one week from now.
Getting those data should be scalable. Logistics should be feasible. It should not put a burden on the same health care workers that deal with the sick. And it should be organized now, not next week.
Innatoss is working on getting the basics in place. We will need help to scale up. To stay informed, follow me.
