On top of it all, a 100+ year old tree in front of our house is coming down today. Despite the lean, it was apparently healthy, but was buckling the sidewalk and a complaint was called in. I'm reminding myself that death is the one funny little quirk about life. We said goodbye.
My favorite feature of this tree was that a flower would sprout from its trunk every year.
(It did not this year.)
Not much left, but a lot of blue sky.
Not even remotely rotted. Both affirming and quite sad.
