Before your coronavirus test center volunteer shift, your temperature is checked at a tent as soon as you drive on to the Michigan State Fairgrounds. It’s taken with a newly-covered under-tongue thermometer. If it’s normal, they give you a blue dot and you proceed inside. 3/
Once inside the State Fairgrounds, you park, walk into the @JDFieldhouse. You sign in, use hand sanitizer and then are asked to don gloves and an N95 mask. Then you wait. They have breakfast and snacks. 4/
I’m running the first checkpoint this AM. 594 appointments for testing today. Massive line to get in. 5/
Everyone who gets tested needs an appointment and every appointment requires a doctor’s prescription. 6/
Finished my shift. We brought in almost 250 cars, and almost 300 people through for testing. I’ll share some additional thoughts and learnings from today on this thread shortly. 7/
