#NEW: Gov. Holcomb introduces Dr. Kristina Box.

She talks about the number of tests being conducted, but says because of limited supplies, targeted testing is still being favored statewide. Wants to focus on testing high-risk patients.

#NEW: Dr. Box says Indiana will receive 15 machines that are capable of rapid coronavirus testing.

The state also received national stockpile supplies, and says a team is still working on amassing as many PPE supplies as possible.

Urges anyone who thinks they're immune to stay home to slow the spread. Says more than 11 thousand people have volunteered to help fight coronavirus around the state

Dr. Box says she's looking at nearby city data every day, and it's all taken into account as they plan

Dr. Box says she doesn't have control over when labs report testing, so that can impact numbers. But she says she's confident that testing is increasing every day in the state

Dr. Box says number of ventilators needed is "all over the board" and says Indiana is trying to increase the number. Gov. Holcomb says every time he talks to someone, he asks for more

Gov. Holcomb says he has no symptoms and doesn't need to be tested right now. Says he's practicing social distancing, and says within the next week he'll announce more

Dr. Box says state has received three shipments from the federal stockpile.

Dr. Box says she can't say what mortality rate is right now, but should know and share more soon.

#NEW: Question: Are furloughed workers the same as laid-off workers the same in terms of applying for unemployment?

If you're not receiving payments, you have to apply and you can probably receive unemployment benefits, but it has to be evaluated.

#NEW: SNAP program is a federally funded program, and state released guidance that SNAP benefits will be extended for at least the next 3 months.

#NEW: Question: Institute for Health Metrics shows Indiana having around 1 thousand deaths by August--is the state ready for that?

Planning section is working on mortuary assistance to make sure the state can be ready for those numbers.

Gov. Holcomb says it brings the state together. Says we're not in the middle of this yet--we're still in the beginning, and we all have to work together.
