5 minutes until #asktom
Growing up in a small town! It probably set the tone for a lot of future Keane songs...
Plans, yes. But I think (like everyone else) that we just have to take it a day at a time for now. Obviously we’ll let you know as soon as we have concrete information...
I’d like to think I’m getting better at most of the things I enjoy. So maybe I’ll be like a jollier version of Nick Cave...😜
The self-isolation has been a great opportunity to start writing again. So a new TC solo album is certainly a possibility at some point...
I often get a sense of frustration when I’ve had a few days at home because I don’t feel I’ve done all the things I wanted to. So this has really been a great chance to write songs, exercise, spend time with the family, cook, reflect, read. The list goes on...
New Caribou record is great.
There are no rules. Some gigs a song will just speak to you more or you’ll sing it really well and in come the chills...Try Again is quite reliable!
I went to the Prado last year...the Goya black paintings are just beyond amazing.
The first few shows of a tour normally require a lot of warming up. Once the tour is up and running, my voice doesn’t need much preparation. I’m very lucky!
Roast lunch or paella...
Ha, not yet! I’d love to know for sure if I had it...first out of curiosity but also so I could go and see my parents, who are over 70 and in that higher risk group!
Mainly the other members of Keane chiming in with suggestions. 😂
I’ll level with you - I’ve got a little studio, a lovely garden, a gym and a swimming pool, so it’s quite hard to choose.
Playing loads of games of family Uno. My daughter is really good at it. Really fun.
Stoner...and it’s not about smoking dope fyi.
The River or See It So Clear...
Not hard, just a pleasure, albeit a sad one...that’s the odd contradiction about singing Keane songs.
I just love to be a trailblazer for things that go badly out of fashion.
When the golf courses open again. 🤭
You’re Not Home. I’ve never felt like I’m gonna screw up a song as often as I do with that one...and we always open with it, which adds to the feeling of abject terror.
Surely that’s some kind of mistake. Is there another Tom doing a Coronavirus briefing or something??
Look, I love Brighton and the people of Brighton, but the Brighton Centre is very strange. It’s too wide at the sides and too squat from front to back. Last show there was the best so far though!!
The dog is residing at my parents’ house at the moment. My Dad loves her, so it gives him a reason to get out on long walks!!
Lima. It was ridiculous.
Ahh, The Notebook was lovely.
Scotland is very reliable!
Happy Birthday. Cherish those 30s, they go super fast...and then suddenly you hit a worrying crossroads.
Last couple of questions now...
I just watched Unorthodox on Netflix. Great miniseries.
Ok, last question, so THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
I really loved Inception.
See ya, take care. Lots of love. Tc xxx
