A couple of points to make here. Firstly, there is a difference between immigrants and people from non-white ethnicities. It is highly misleading to present the two as one and the same. THREAD:

According to @ONS, 12% of healthcare workers in the UK are non-British nationals. In London, that percentage goes up to 23%. In other words, almost 1 out of 4 doctors in the area hardest hist by COVID-19 is a non-British national.

Separately, 20.7% of healthcare workers identify as non-white. These numbers simply reiterates that many British nationals are of different ethnicities, whilst many white healthcare workers are of other (non-British) nationalities. One has nothing to do with the other.

So, except of perpetuating divisive misrepresentations, what is the argument that @KTHopkins is making here? That the NHS would be better off in the face of a global pandemic with only 4/5 of the staff? And London would be better off with 3/4?

We call BS... without ALL our healthcare workers (the white British, the BAME British, the white non-British, the BAME non-British, ...) the system would already have collapsed. That is what #YouClapForMeNow is about: unity, not "leftist divisiveness."
