Ismael was born and raised in Badda, where he completed his elementary school. He left for Saudi Arabia at a young age where he completed his intermediate and high school studies. He also has a university degree in Administration Science.

Since 1980, he actively participated in the Eritrean Mass Movement (hafash Wedibat) doing his part as part of the greater movement in the struggle for Eritrea’s independence. #Eritrea #Yiakl
Currently, he is a Board Member, Executive Producer and Anchor of Afar Language Program at ERISAT-Eritrean Satellite Television. Ismael has been with ERISAT since its inception in late 2018 and continued to serve as the vice-president of ERISAT’s founding Board of Directors.
He also worked as journalist with Dimtsi Hafash(Voice of the Masses) from June 1991-Septermber 1998. #Eritrea #Yiakl
Ismael has been involved with various civic and opposition political groups as part of his commitment to see a free and democratic #Eritrea.
Ismael brings a lot of experience and wisdom to team @ERISAT3 and other organizations that he is involved with. His calm, reflective and mature leadership style is greatly appreciated by everyone who works and collaborates with him. #Eritrea #Yiakl

One of the many leadership qualities of Ismael is his consistency. He is someone you can depend and rely on. The uninterrupted production of the Afar program on ERISAT is an example! He delivers his weekly one hour program consistently despite the many challenges that he faces.
