Coronavirus and social distancing has forced all of us to look loneliness in the eye. Tackling it has never been more important. So we’re launching a new plan to help ensure no one needs to feel lonely in the weeks ahead:

All of us can experience loneliness.
Our #LetsTalkLoneliness campaign is designed to get everyone talking openly about the issue and the role we all have to play in being kind and looking out for each other.

Everyone should know what they can do if they’re feeling lonely.
We’ve produced a one stop shop guide on how people can help themselves and where to turn for more support.

We’re boosting our brilliant loneliness charities with £5m of new funding and will ensure that small organisations doing this work in their communities are a priority when we distribute the £750m of support for charities we announced earlier this month.
We’ll also link loneliness charities to our fantastic #NHSVolunteerResponders, so that they can help support isolated people in their communities.
And we’re bringing together businesses, charities and other organisations like @JoCoxFoundation, @Facebook, @premierleague, @VodafoneUK, @age_uk, @nesta_uk, @ace_national and others to get their insights on how we can all tackle loneliness and take this work further.
