Those attacking and abusing trans young men for proudly showing topless pictures post surgery has the same energy & intent as the abuse that women have faced throughout history for the clothes they wear, or do not wear, or the way they look. It is raw misogyny. Trans men are men.
The trolls are angry because in these photos the world sees happy, smiling faces, bodies standing straight & proud, Only a person without empathy can see this & objectify, sexualise & belittle such pride & body confidence.
I'm fortunate to have met many trans masc youth before & after top surgery and to a man the positive change in their entire being, their holding, confidence & ability to interact with the world is profound & moving. They are rightfully proud of their journey & I am proud of them.
As a cis male who has not always been confident about my body, especially as a young man, I am awed by the confidence of trans masc young men. They provide visibility & role models not just to trans youth but to all men, including me. #bodypositivity #transkidsliving
/\ Non binary people should absolutely have body autonomy and access to trans healthcare and gender affirmative surgery. Non binary folk face additional barriers to accessing gender care. Their representation & visibility, on their own terms is vital & important.
