In 2018, over 5 million Floridians voted for the ballot measure known as #Amendment4. By changing the Florida State Constitution to allow formerly incarcerated individuals to vote, over 1 million Floridians regained their voting rights. (2/5) theintercept.com/2018/11/03/flo…

Soon after #Amendment4’s passage, The FL Legislature passed State Bill 7066 (#SB7066), which requires all fines and fees to be paid before a formerly incarcerated person is allowed to vote. This has effectively re-disenfranchised millions. (3/5) vox.com/policy-and-pol…

In 2019 we went to court to fight #SB7066. A Preliminary Injunction was granted and allowed only the plaintiffs in the case to vote. That’s not good enough. We’re still fighting. (4/5) tampabay.com/florida-politi…

#Amendment4 created the largest expansion of voting rights in decades. Forcing returning citizens to pay all outstanding fines before they can cast a ballot is a modern-day poll tax. We’re not going to stand for it. (5/5)
