1/ Video games are good for us. Everyone at @Shopify is allowed to expense Factorio (store.steampowered.com/app/427520/Fac…). Played a lot of real-time strategy eg Starcraft when younger.
2/ RTS games are cool because it's all about managing resources. Gold, minerals etc, but most importantly attention. At higher levels of play, it's the player who can pay attention to the relevant things amidst all the chaos who'll win.
3/ Personality typing is interesting. Not because it's an instruction manual "this is how to deal with personality X", but because it gives us an appreciation that "whoah people are so different!". This is a non-obvious insight that it can take decades to fully internalise.
4/ Ground States - What do you do when you're not doing anything? What's your zero-energy-expenditure activity? For some of us, it's watching TV. For Tobi it's ingesting information. 👈 I want to explore this idea more.
5/ Follow your interests - Tobi loves "The Guide to the Good Life" (sick book). But everyone has to follow their own path with reading / interests. Don't just read the stuff that someone is telling you, read the stuff you find the most interesting, then pull on that thread.
