‘Ethar’ is derived from an Arabic word, which denotes the altruistic giving to the needy without regard for one’s need, even if that need is justified. This elevated principal was the catalyst for the formation of ETHAR charity in 2006. #Eritrea
.@Ethar_Relief have worked devotedly to aid Eritrean refugees fleeing into the Horn of Africa region, who are indeed the Forgotten People. ETHAR has since established itself as the leading relief agency working with #Eritrea|n refugees globally.
ETHAR is a non-governmental, non-political humanitarian aid organization, dedicated to helping people in need regardless of their ethnic origin, political affiliation, gender or religious beliefs. #Eritrea
ETHAR mission is to ensure that all refugees are empowered to make a safe and sustainable living, meeting their basic needs in order for them to live a fulfilling life. #Eritrea #RememberTheForgotten
ETHAR current projects provides aid and sustainable resources to displaced, poverty-impacted refugees and disadvantaged communities. ETHAR primary focus and prospectively includes Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia and Yemen. #Eritrea
East Sudan holds over 1/2 million refugees living in one of the world’s largest refugee camps in the most dire & hostile conditions. There is a severe shortage of the most basic necessities such as shelter, clean water & food. ETHAR is active in those camps & helps those in need.
The fight for survival supersedes all else, therefore ETHAR essential programs remain at the forefront of its efforts to provide food, water & medical aid. ETHAR also delivers Emergency Aid, Shelter, Widow Sponsorships, Women’s Development, Vocational & Skill Training & more!
Families, unaccompanied children & women are exposed to many dangers as they are forced to travel significant distances to access water which is often dirty & contaminated. ETHAR works to provide the presence of wells to protect refugees and prevent their further displacement.
ETHAR food programs have provided over 3 million meals to refugees & displaced people in the past 3 years. ETHAR actively works to provide food to people who need it most. For £40, ETHAR manages to feed an entire family of 5 for a whole month. #Eritrea #RememberTheForgotten
With COVID-19, refugee camps have the potential of being a coronavirus hotspot. ETHAR has begun distributing aid, medical care, and training outreach workers to raise awareness in order to prepare the most vulnerable and unfortunate people for the pandemic. #Eritrea
Education is a key focus of @Ethar_Relief, as it is a route out of poverty and provides much-needed hope, dignity and independence to the residents of refugee camps. #Eritrea #RememberTheForgotten
ETHAR work is made possible by the generous contribution from donors such as yourselves. Please remember our forgotten brothers & sisters in refugee camps by donating as much as you can. You can sponsor a child for as little as £25 a month.
