100% equality. Of course myself & many, many others want equality for others. We all understand there are bigots & racists of all colors & all demographics. I also understand that there are bad cops & our justice & penal systems need major overhauls. Yet, I also think there are

systemic problems with Black American communities that are not being addressed that are the result of the citizens of those communities. Violent crimes committed by black men, single parent households, failure to make education a priority, drug use. These problems occur within

black communities at a much higher % then other communities. This isn't the result of slavery or caused by racism. These are issues that are caused by the citizens of these communities. I am not black & I don't know what it is to be black in America. Yet, I hardly see how finger

pointing, referring to slavery which was the result of policies centuries gone, civil rights violations now decades & generations old will solve any of these issues. I don't see how black men & women looting, burning & assaulting store owners is going to change the narrative.

The use of African-American to me is divisive. Why can't I just refer my fellow American as American unless you are truly from Africa? The divide this week is widening. I am saddened by this because we should all look at a person for who he is, his character, his contributions

never his color. Yet, I watch Americans who happen to be predominately black rail against the country I love with violent actions. The country which has fostered prosperity for many regardless of color. I see blacks more than fairly represented in entertainment, music, sports,

business & politics cheered as heroes & role models but I am not witnessing personal responsibility. I don't know what it is like to be segregated because civil rights don't allow it because brilliant, compassionate people of all nationalities stood for what is right. I didn't

grow up privileged but poor. I worked my way through school while raising a young family. Was denied employment in certain careers after I graduated from college due to affirmative action. Was this not discrimination? Made many dumb mistakes along the way. Yet, I have built a

life for myself. People still flock to this great country from all over the world because of the opportunity it affords them regardless of where they are born. Yet Black Americans claim there is no opportunity for them here. Where else in the world is there more opportunity?

I want to understand & be a part of the solution. Yet, I want a real path. Not aspersions cast about my character because I am white & I don't understand. It is time to put aside decades or centuries old grievances & ridiculous calls for reparation's from a generation whose

grandfathers, grandfather never owned a slave. Real solutions, a real path. #protests #protest2020
