A short thread for today's "Books From My Shelves." I have a small section of books I can't read, thanks to my dumbass early 80's Iowa education that actively discouraged learning any other language. Here's some classic books, though!
A couple of books by my friend Karim Friha, and then one by Jacques Tardi, who I've never had a chance to meet, but I'm sure I'd totally fanboy out on him.
I'd love to learn how to read these damn books, dammit. I love the art in both of these.
I'll take any opportunity to look at Jose Munoz art.
Here's a video of Munoz drawing a page, complete with dramatic music.
Another book by Karim, and then a paperback book of Natacha comics, by Walthery, natch.
I first met Karim at a convention, when we were both hanging out at the Oni Comics booth. I miss meeting people at conventions.
Another non-English book I have is this beautiful French edition of @ColleenCoover's SMALL FAVORS collection. It's my wife's first major work. Available in an equally beautiful English edition from @OniPress! Order one from your local shop! They could use the business right now!
I should point out that Small Favors is very definitely adults only. Naughty things are apt to occur with startling frequency.
