1,000 girls 'from religious minorities are abducted, forcibly converted & then married off to their abductors [yearly] . . . forced conversions are one of the most serious problems facing Hindu and Christian women' - Dr. Ackerman, @unibirmingham. #SindhRejectsForcedConversions
Abductions & forced conversions to Islam is a serious problem faced by Hindu & other minority girls (including minors) in Sindh, Pakistan.
We recommend reading Dr. Ackerman's 2018 study discussing the severity of this problem. ⬇️ #StopForcedConversions

What's highlighted by Dr. Ackerman and Journalist Saba Imtiaz (in this piece) is that Islamist religious activists, some shrines, and politicians back these forced conversions, "believing that converting someone to Islam is a way of earning blessings." 👇

It's imperative to fight this fascistic behavior that seeks to subjugate non-Muslim minorities, mainly Hindus, ostensibly for religious & socioeconomic reasons. Sindh and Pakistan must reflect on if this is the society they want to have for themselves and to show to the world.
