The Temples where we go in for worship symbolize our beliefs and values. They have been constructed to bring the energy of all cosmic elements at one place and have all the energies ranging from fire to water and earth to air elements. 1/9

The architecture of Indian temples is mesmerizing and captivating to the extent that the person visiting them are left spell bound. The walls of the temples are full with the stories of nature as well as the deities; they depict the force and impact of karmas with focus on 2/9

their meaning and significance. The atmosphere is charged with the sounds of bells, smells of incense sticks and flowers and the continuous chanting of the pious Mantras touches everyone’s soul to the core and nourishes it with the positivity. Every Hindu temple architecture 3/9

has the idol of almighty Lord who is eternal, without physical form, yet he is the ultimate reality and universality. The Pradakshina Path around the main deity where worshipers do circumambulation of the sacred place to grasp the positive energy coming out of the garb-griha 4/9

The Sandhara Ambulatory-
The Sandhara architecture has a square sanctum surrounded by a gallery of pillars which is used for Pradakshina.
The Nirandhara Ambulatory-
These temples are famous but they don’t 5/9

have any Pradakshina Path. The Khajuraho is constructed both on Sandhara and Nirandhara plan, the Lakshmana, Vishvanatha, and the Khandariya are on the former plan and the Jagdamba and Chitragupta are on the latter plan.

The Sarvatobhadra Ambulatory-

is surrounded with a row of 12 pillars around the sanctum and also has four doors in all the four cardinal directions so that worshippers can have access inside the main temple from all the four sides. Both types of architecture provide a different method of load-bearing 7/9
