The care Inspectorate’s case relating to the operators of the Home Farm Care Home in Portree, HC One came in front of the Sheriff Court in Inverness yesterday with a judgment that the case is to be heard again on the 24th June.
First & foremost has to be the well being of the residents and their families as well as the staff working at Home Farm. The community of Skye has supported all of those caught up in this situation and in particular our thoughts are with the families of those who have passed away
I am grateful of the partnership with the NHS in supporting the residents and staff at Home Farm. As Roddy Dunlop QC acting for the pursuers in tis case said yesterday “There will come a point in time-and it is anticipate that may be soon-at which NHS Highland require to depart.”
It is clear from the deliberations yesterday that concerns remain as to the ability of HC One to demonstrate effective and appropriate management of Home Farm. In effect HC One have been given two weeks to demonstrate robust systems are in place.
As I stated my primary concern is the well being of the residents and the staff. We now will have to wait a further two weeks before these matters are brought to a conclusion. I will continue to speak with the families of the residents, staff members and concerned constituents.
