Today in #Rakesden...

This wee ash was howked out of a bed but given a home the other day. There's still a couple more in various places, so this seems to be the year of the ash, where last year it was all birch babies. If anyone would like an ash tree, I may well have spares needing a forever home.

Blue starting to come in on the eryngiums.

Hebe coming into flower too.

Today was mostly spent in the back lane, filling a duvet with compost and edging it with wood to make a wee bed. A fern rehomed across the way too, the idea being to basically make all the space up to the gates clearly kept, try and keep the fly tipping beyond the gates.

It was compost day, so I seived, turned, and rejigged the base a bit with stones cleared from the main bay before turning. Spare stones edging the plants. Cleared out some of the lesser knotweed too so it doesn't take over completely.
