Dr. Fauci earlier: "We are now having 40K+ new cases a day. I would not be surprised if we go up to 100K a day if this does not turn around & so I am very concerned"
Everyone wore masks on their way to the podium & VP Pence continued to encourage Americans to wear face coverings when social distancing isn't possible. This is a change from Friday's briefing. Pence made the new plea more emphatically Sunday in Dallas and is now repeating it.
.@Surgeon_General Adams: "This virus is exploiting and exacerbating" existing inequity and disparities in communities of color disproportionately. Calls on Americans not to lose focus on this important point.
Adams: "Please, please, please wear a face mask." He implores people to view it as "an instrument of freedom" if everyone listens to their advice and uses one so the spread of coronavirus can be slowed
VP Pence says the president has "worn a mask in public" but in reality, President Trump wore one briefly behind the scenes at a factory in Michigan (which was captured in a photo) but he told the press traveling with him that he didn't want to wear it in front of them
