I think the biggest thing about @HamiltonMusical and @Lin_Manuel’s lyrics is how they underlyingly speak to us as humans. “Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now!” Amidst everything so many are suffering at this moment, that’s beautiful to hold onto.
That notion of #Hamilton never being satisfied. No matter what he gets, still wanting more. More power. More status. More legacy. Whereas Eliza just wants him - for the man he is. And them - for what they are. “And I could be enough. And we could be enough. That would be enough.”
Meanwhile Angelica sacrificing her love for #Hamilton so her sister can be happy - even if it means she won’t be... “At least I keep his eyes in my life.” That bittersweet love story in @HamiltonMusical is one of the most wonderful threads running through any musical ever IMHO.
“If you love this girl then go get her” #Hamilton tells Burr who has the epic response of talking about the mistake he’s made, how much it’s taken out of him but still he hopes: “And if there's a reason I'm by her side. When so many have tried. Then I'm willing to wait for it.”
