#RaniRudramaDevi was a monarch of the Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan Plateau from 1263 until her death. She probably began her rule of the Kakatiya kingdom jointly with her father, Ganapatideva as his co-regent, from 1261-62.

#RaniRudramaDevi chose to recruit as warriors many people who were not aristocratic, granting them rights over land tax revenue in return for their support. This was a significant change which was also followed by later Vijayanagara Empire.

#RaniRudramaDevi faced challenges from Eastern Ganga dynasty & Yadavas soon after beginning her rule. She was able to repel former, who retreated beyond Godavari River in late 1270s & she also defeated Yadavas, who were forced to cede territory in western Andhra.

#RaniRudramaDevi also captured important forts like Renadu, Eruva Mulikinadu, and Satti.

Her accomplishments include the completion of the Warangal fort that her father had begun. It involved the addition of a second wall and a moat to the structure.

📷As per Chandupatla Inscription that #RaniRudramaDevi died in the battlefield while opposing Kayasta Ambadeva in 1289. Rudrama was followed by daughter Mummadamba’s son, Prataparudradeva, who ruled from AD 1289 to AD 1323.
