"walking the dog" takes on a whole new meaning when you are the sole guest on the top floor of a hotel in times square during a global virus situation that has eliminated tourism and bottomed out hotel room rates

we have to stay here one more week at least before we can move into our new apartment :-O

bibby had a good run tonight. perhaps for efficiency's sake he did not want to use the entire hallway. anyway if you wanna hear some Good Dog Sounds i cut together some here

also, an update: it looks like we are stuck here for at least one MORE week before we can move into the new apartment. i've gotten a fair deal of the DOOM video script written already, though. i was able to get a lot of eclectic research done for this one

we're comin up on Two Weeks stuck in this empty hotel in times square. my previous experience with The Virus makes me hesitant to journey too far outdoors. so, these Two Bros here have become closer to me than my ACTUAL two brothers (Mario and Luigi). $8 for a whole pizza!!!!!

i had eaten many (many) single 2 Bros $1 slices over the years, though last week was my first time carrying a whole hot fresh one up to a hotel room. it's good!! please don't ever hate on 2 Bros in front of me

well, our hotel is on fire

well, the fire has been "resolved." we are in the lobby waiting for the fire department / hotel to turn off the alarms / turn the elevators back on

in case anyone was wondering, Landlord #1 didn't call me back OR answer the phone all week re: my having moved out / sending me my deposit. also, Building Manager for the new apartment still hasn't looked at our paperwork. looks like i gotta extend our hotel stay another week :-/

well, we're still in the lobby. the hotel people say they don't have an estimate for when the elevator will work again. unfortunately we're on the god darn top floor and my post-coronavirus lungs definitely can't take that many stairs :-(

on the other hand, this lobby is nice

we are back upstairs now!! please enjoy this video of bibby eating a tiny ice cube for a bedtime snack

my baby boy just loves crunching ice with his huge fused powerful crushing molars!!

well, here's the rest of my video of bibby babbis eating ice from the hotel ice machine. why not

well, we can't move into our new apartment for at least another two weeks :-(

let's just say the next video on youtube.com/actionbutton is gonna be . . . interesting

on the one hand, we've been trapped in a hotel for three weeks. on the other hand, i have taught my friend to howl on command

this is still entertaining me an extreme amount

just want to address the dozens of people who have asked me for my thoughts on GHOST OF TSUSHIMA: buddy i have been trapped in a hotel for going on a month. all i have is netflix, my laptop, and teaching my tiny dog how to howl. i'll play it on PS5 probably around christmas time

when i finally DO play GHOST OF TSUSHIMA i will probably like it well enough and say nothing about it, not giving one thought to whatever the reason was that so many people wanted my opinion on it during that one isolated nine-day period back in july

friday night at the hotel pool!!!!!

update: he can swim! and he seems to like it. i shall take him swimming in a lake (etc) someday

🐺🐔

five days later . . .

havin a snack with my friend on the deck of this house that isn't mine on a ski-mountain in new hampshire, which is nice: though i'd honestly rather have my own home (and be working in it)

we are in the "new" apartment . . . where the building management is so strict about moving that we can't clear out The Previous Tenant's furniture until next wednesday. also, there's no air conditioning. anyway me and my Baby Bibby are enjoying this here fan

once all this stuff is out we gotta have this place deep-cleaned, walls repainted . . . and THEN we can move in. verizon is coming to install the internet on the 25th (why not today??). THEN i need to buy furniture (and a TV). we expect to actually "live" here on the 30th.

it was like 100 degrees in here the other night, and i had to sleep on cardboard with no fan. i tell you what: that sucked!! those nightmares are gonna stick with me for a couple of months at least

we got an air mattress though we couldn't lay it out because of the ancient piano taking up 75% of the living room. today, we are rid of the piano. this wall is where my new tv will someday go. btw if you're a painter in manhattan who PICKS UP THE PHONE, my DMs are open!!!

we need the property manager's permission seven full days in advance of virtually anything we want to do. like, these outlets here are WILD-old and need to be redone. light switches are loose as heck. these broken air conditoners are literally from the 1970s

here is the full living room (w old furniture). i am posting all this now because when i'm done with this place it is going to be QUITE nice!! Upper West Side, jerry!!!!!!!!!!

(i took kitchen and bathroom pics too though uhhh i will share those when i have an "after" shot lmao)

My Friend offered to help me drink this root beer

we got all the old furniture out. still haven't moved in our stuff from the storage unit in brooklyn. (maybe next week?) i went to the closest supermarket in the rain, thinking i'd buy some ready-made macaroni and cheese. however, i left my glasses at home. oops

i used to go to the supermarket in brooklyn without my glasses all the time. (to be honest: they don't help so much, anymore.) it turns out knowing the layout of your local supermarket counts for a heck of a lot!

air mattress has a hole in it . . . as per Building Rules we can't get our real bed in here until next-next monday. looks like we got an arts-and-crafts project for today :-/

furthermore, this building requires me to schedule deliveries of large packages. for example: i am going to buy a tv soon. i need to make sure the building is ok with the delivery date, even though i can't know the delivery date without ordering the tv. i hate it

i get a lot of people asking what the appeal of our (for now) somewhat difficult apartment situation is. i will explain in detail later, though for now here is a picture of the diner on the corner

we painted the walls gray!! (pic is from the job in progress, to show the difference.) tomorrow we'll have gigabit fios in here . . . then september 3rd we'll move in all our stuff!!! anyway, i have always wanted gray walls at home and wow, it rules

i should also add that i finished researching AND writing the script for the review after DOOM . . . and have 75% written the one after THAT . . . !! well, good night

we got internet . . . wow . . . this verizon fios is literally 40 times faster over *wifi* than the fastest available spectrum internet was at our old place in brooklyn . . . i can't wait to get my Big Boy Computer back and plug it right in to experience Full Gigabit . . . !!

i'm at my storage unit right now (for no reason in particular) and if anybody has any outside the box suggestions for where i might have put my xbox one elite controller series two please let me know

update: i found it
