I’m a lesbian with many masc traits - I was exactly the sort of queer teen that @jk_rowling says she’s worried about.

I support trans folks (incl kids & teens) getting the options & support THEY SAY THEY NEED.

Please listen, uplift and signal boost those with lived experience

There are better ways to solve the various problems being centred by transphobic “gender critical” people (NB: the latter is a rebranding like “alt-right”). Wanna reduce homophobia? Fund the work!

The alternative is literally death.

Suicide rates amongst trans teens are awful.

I grew up in Apartheid South Africa where the government sanctioned the military doing forced sex change operations after failed conversion torture [en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Avers…]

I was ripe for the kind of “pressuring” that JK says she fears.

I still say LISTEN TO TRANS FOLX

Stopping progress to push compliance to an outdated and scientifically imprecise definition of gender that you happen to have been told was “the truth” is just weird.

These are real people’s lives being ruined by this hatred & fear-mongering.

Please look deep inside your heart and check for transphobia / transmismia.

We know how difficult & awful it is to be hated & feared for who we are & who we love.

I’ve worked with some OUTSTANDING trans* engineers in particular. Sadly many of them are now leaving the country bcs of their experiences
