After eight days in Texas and a handful of flights I’m back in DC & going for a COVID test this morning. The woman in line in front of me tells me it’s easy. She took a test June 29 here too... and never got results back. Not inspiring confidence so far.
The woman checking me in says my sample will be sent to LabCorp to run the test, and I should expect results in 5-7 business days. “Maybe sooner.”
That kind of turnaround time makes contact tracing virtually impossible.
In and out in fifteen minutes and the test was totally painless. Process was professional and efficient. Now we wait.
2.5 days after test: I have no reason to expect my results yet, based on paperwork I was given when I got tested, but I decided to call the 1-800 number & ask anyway. The woman who answered told me DC has a testing backlog, and to call back if I don’t get results in TEN days
Got my COVID test results back today, five days after being tested. That passes for pretty quick compared to much of what’s being reported. My test was negative, thankfully.
