Today PM @BorisJohnson has announced an additional £3bn to support the NHS in England this winter.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will also receive additional funds.
The Nightingale hospitals will be maintained until the end of March, providing additional capacity if needed and allowing the NHS to carry out routine treatments and procedures.
We will make funding available, allowing the NHS to continue using private hospital capacity.
We’re increasing coronavirus testing capacity to half a million antigen tests a day by the end of October, to bolster the NHS Test and Trace programme.
We have confirmed plans for the biggest flu vaccine programme in the history of the UK.
These are just some of the measures we are taking to ensure the NHS is prepared for winter.
