Pleased to join @PerruzzaTO this morning to announce two new and free outdoor recreation initiatives coming to a park near you. #ParksPlayTO and #SummerInTheSIX will provide safe, fun and free recreation programming for families and kids across our city.
Both initiatives will run for an 7-week period, starting Monday and provide necessary employment opportunities for Torontonians, while addressing the unmet activity and social needs of Toronto youth, children and their families.
#ParksPlayTO will offer free drop-in and activity-based, recreation programming for families Monday to Friday at multiple locations across the city. There is no cost to participate in the program and no pre-registration is necessary.
#SummerInTheSIX will offer drop-in activities for dance, fitness, ecology and sports as well as leadership, employment, arts and media. Youth can pick the activities they’re interested in and plan their own weeks’ worth of free activities in our parks.
