Last year under the #LetsCleanKHI initiative with the help of FWO we managed to clean the storm drains just in time. When the rains came, our city was saved from disaster. All Sindh Govt had to do, was to maintain what we had done & as usual they’ve failed
For the past few weeks, I have been warning everyone of the disaster rains will bring & now it has hit us head on. Solid Waste Management, the KMC & everyone else keeps throwing the blame back & forth. We citizens get crushed in the middle.
Those elected to the National & Provincial assemblies from KHI have to face the brunt. But after the 18th amendment constitutionally, they have no authority over local governance issues. All @PTIofficial MNA’s have deployed federal development funds in their constituencies but...
... that’s not enough. Now once again we are left to fend for ourselves as the Provincial Govt is no where to be seen. Those who can’t even pick up trash have ruled us for over 12 yrs. But yes, they are experts when it comes to kidnapping, extortion, corruption.. even murder.
The Federal Govt can’t & won’t leave the citizens of KHI at the mercy of these people, some of who are known protectors/facilitators/partners of known criminals.
Let’s bring our house in order. I have always said, w/o fixing KHI, Pakistan’s economic revival is just a pipe dream.
