It's is a computer model. It gives ice volume estimates based on satellite altimetry (post-2003), and based on NOTHING of consequence except ice extent (pre-2003).

It's not possible to derive ice volume from available data prior to 2003.

Of course he was wrong: Arctic Amplification causes DECREASING temperature gradient.
