Calhoun says more than 2,500 aircraft with 20+ years of service were in operation before the pandemic. Since then, Boeing has tracked more than 1,000 which have been formally retired.

Boeing CFO Greg Smith says that 6,000 employees have left the company as of June 30. The company's workforce will shrink by at least 10% and CEO Calhoun says it is examining further cuts.
