I’m going to stick my neck out on this one. If anything that can come out in next a year or two would be F-16V once MMRCA 2.0 closes officially or IAF manages to get something out of supposed 114 aircraft deal. Rafale could be procured in more or less same numbers i.e. 36
I’m basing this on these points
1. ACM Sohail Amman said in PTV interview post Azm/Block-III announcement that PAF is still in talks about F-16
2. India giving billions to French & Russians plus S-400
3. Closing of MMRC 2.0 with 36 more Rafale may finally break the camel’s back.
If India wants to keep playing “Strategic autonomy” game then US has all the right to counter China through India & also tempt Pakistan with Viper. Not long ago in 2016 US Congress approved 8 x F-16 sale with possibility of 10 more. Trump’s entry derailed that deal i.e. CSF stop
This was Pentagon’s response to Indian hue & cry in 2016

Since mediation is out of picture for now, there has to be a payout now and hint was sale of $125 million worth upgrade to existing Viper fleet. Whenever you see something related to F-16 is released be ready for more. Take that as sign of US-Pak back on at least in talking terms
